Depart from Australia to China’s Capital – Beijing fly with China Eastern Airlines (transit in Shanghai). Upon arrival in Beijing, you will be greeted by our local representative then transferred to your hotel.
Day2: Beijing (B, L, D)
Beijing was the capital of Yuan Dynasty (1264-1368); Ming Dynasty (1368-1644); Qing Dynasty (1644-1911); Republic of China (1912-?) and People’s Republic of China (1949-present).
This morning tour the “Tian An Men Square”, the largest city square in the world followed by the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace. This evening enjoy the renowned Beijing Duck in your dinner.
Day3: Beijing (B, L, D)
Full day excursion to the remarkable Great Wall, one of the Seven Wonders of the World; then visit to the underground palace of one of the Thirteen Ming Tombs, where thirteen emperors of Ming Dynasty were buried. Tonight enjoy a Chinese acrobatic show.
Day4: Beijing Xi’an (B, L, D)
Xi’an was the capital of Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC-771 BC); Qin Dynasty (221 BC-206 BC); Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-9 AD); Xin Dynasty (8-23); Sui Dynasty (581-619); Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Fly to Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province today, known as Chang’an in ancient China, was the capital of 13 dynasties from the 11th century B.C. to the mid-10th century A.D. for 1062 years. On arrival in Xi’an, you will be greeted by our local tour guide, then tour to the Bell Tower Square; the Ancient City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
Day5: Xi’an (B, L, D)
After breakfast, tour to the Qin Vaults of life-sized Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses buried with the first emperor – Qin Shi Huang more than 2000 years ago; visit the Shaanxi History Museum, which houses 370 thousand pieces of cultural relics excavated in the area. This evening we’ll have a Dumpling Dinner in local restaurant.
Day6: Xi’an Luoyang (B, L, D)
Luoyang was the capital of Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770 BC-256 BC); Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220); Western Jin Dynasty (265-316).
Travel to Luoyang by train. Tour to the World Listed Heritage – Longmen Grottoes followed by White Horse Temple and Guan’s Forest.
Day7: Luoyang Shaolin Monastery Zhengzhou (B, L, D)
Tour to Shaolin Monastery in Mt. Songshan in Dengfeng County. The Monastery is well known for its martial arts (Shaolin Kung Fu). See Kung Fu performance. Transfer to Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province for dinner and overnight stay.
Day8: Zhengzhou Kaifeng Zhengzhou (B, L, D)
Kaifeng was the capital of Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127).
Early morning depart to Kaifeng. Upon arrival, tour to the Temple of the Chief Minister, the Dragon Pavilion and the Imperial Street of Song Dynasty. Return to Zhengzhou then visit the Henan Provincial Museum, one of the top three ranking museums in China built on the relic site of the Yin Shang Dynasty.
Day9: Zhengzhou Hangzhou (B, L, D)
Hangzhou was the capital of Southern Song Dynasty from 1138 to 1277 for about 140 years.
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Hangzhou. As a renowned garden city and top tourist city in China, Hangzhou lies by the beautiful lakes and hills, showing natural, picturesque scenery. On arrival, meet your local guide. Tour started with a scenic cruise on the picturesque West Lake; then to the Mausoleum of General Yuefei and the Qing Hefang Old Street; after lunch, visit a local tea plantation, where we’ll taste various local teas.
Day10: Hangzhou Suzhou (B, L, D)
After breakfast, depart for Suzhou by road. Suzhou, a ‘paradise on earth’, is a historical and cultural city with history of more than 2500 years. The city is also known for its charming gardens. We’ll tour the Hanshan Temple; Garden of Lotus Roots; See Shan Tang Street (a local residential area in the Old Town) by boat. Visit a local silk spinning mill in the afternoon.
Day11: Suzhou Shanghai (B, L, D)
This morning travel to Shanghai, China´s leading industrial, commercial and major financial centre. Visit to the Yuyuan Garden and the neighbouring ´Yuyuan Bazaar´.
Day12: Shanghai (B, L, D)
Tour to the Bund then visits Shanghai Museum. After an early dinner, enjoy a scenic cruise on the Huangpu River, sightsee “The Bund” and Pudong CBD on both shores, which are brilliantly illuminated at night.
Day13: Shanghai Australia (B, L)
Today we enjoy free time at Nanjing Road pedestrian mall, or relax in one of the Xin Tian Di’s cafes. The tour is finished at Shanghai airport where your tour guide will help you check-in your return flight for Australia.
Arrive in Australia. End this unforgettable China tour.
